Revolutionary War Pension Petition
Isaac Runyon Presented His Pension Petition on 29 April 1819
Petitioner was 60 years old in 1819; consequently he was born about 1759.

On this twenty-ninth day of April eighteen hundred and nineteen before me Peter I Stryker one of the judges of the Court of Common pleas in and for the said county of Monmouth personally appeared Isaac Runyon aged sixty years resident in the said county of Monmouth and State of New Jersey, who being by me first duly sworn according to law, doth on his oath make the following declaration in order to obtain the provision made by the late act of congress, entitled "an act to provide for certain persons engaged in the land and naval service of the United States in the Revolutionary War."
That he the said Isaac Runyon enlisted in the month of March in the year one thousand seven hundred and seventy eight at Millstone in the State of New Jersey in the company commanded by Captain George Wack [Waack] of the first regiment commanded by Colonel Mathis Ogden of the New Jersey line, that he continued to serve in the said corps, or in the service of the United States until the end of the war in June in the year one thousand seven hundred and eighty three, when he was discharged from service in the State of New Jersey.
That he was in the Battle of Monmouth and Short Hills. That he is in reduced circumstances and stands in need of the assistance of his country for support, and that he has no other evidence in his power of his said services.

On this twenty-second day of September 1820 personally appeared in open court of the United States for the Southern District of New York in the City of New York, being a court of record, Isaac Runyon aged sixty-one years, resident in the Township of Middletown in the county of Monmouth in the State of New Jersey, who being first duly sworn according to law doth on his oath declare that he served in the Revolutionary War as follows:
In the first regiment of the New Jersey line commanded by Col. Mathias Ogden, in the company commanded by Captain George Waack. That his original declaration was made on the twenty ninth day of April 1819, on which a pension certificate issued numbered nine thousand one hundred and seventy eight.
And I do solemnly swear that I was a resident citizen of the United States on the 18th day of March 1818, and that I have not since that time by gift, sale or in any manner disposed of my property or any part thereof with intent thereby so to diminish it as to bring myself within the provisions of an act of Congress entitled "an act to provide for certain persons engaged in the land and naval service of the United States in the Revolutionary War" passed on the 18th day of March 1818, and that I have not, nor has any person in trust for me any property or securities, contracts or debts due to me, nor have I any income other than what is contained in the schedule hereunto annexed and by me subscribed:

Three beds and bedding worth about forty dollars
Kitchen furniture worth about seventeen dollars
One bureau, six chairs and one table worth about twelve dollars
I have no real estate. I am by occupation a farmer, but am not able to labour. I have a wife aged sixty years who is not healthy. I have no children living with me. I have a son named William living near me, and four daughters, also married and living at a considerable distance from me.
